How to install FlixFox TV — 3 methods

There are three ways to get FlixFox TV onto your Android Smart TV. Pick the method that matches what hardware you have on hand. All three install the same FlixFox TV v1.1.2 APK.

01
Install via "Send Files to TV"
Wireless transfer from your phone over Wi-Fi
  1. Download the "Send Files to TV" app on both your Android phone and your Smart TV from Google Play.
  2. Connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi network.
  3. Send the FlixFox TV APK file from your phone to the TV using the app.
  4. Open the received file on your TV and tap Install to complete.
Best for: Smart TVs without a browser or Downloader app.
02
Install via Pen Drive (USB)
Physical transfer using a USB stick
  1. Download the FlixFox TV APK on your phone or computer from our website.
  2. Prepare a pen drive. Transfer the downloaded APK file onto a USB pen drive.
  3. Insert the pen drive into the USB port of your Smart TV.
  4. Open the file manager on your TV using the remote.
  5. Locate the pen drive in the file manager — it typically appears in the list of storage devices.
  6. Find the APK file inside the pen drive's folder.
  7. Install the application — select the APK file and choose the install option when prompted. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  8. Grant permissions. If the app requests specific permissions, read them and confirm to continue.
  9. Launch the application from the TV app drawer once installation completes.
Note: Interface and exact steps may vary slightly between TV brands and models. If you get stuck, refer to your TV's user manual or the manufacturer's support resources.
Best for: TVs without Wi-Fi flexibility, or when you already have the APK on a USB stick.
03
Install via the TV browser
Download directly using your Smart TV's built-in browser
  1. Open the browser on your TV — find it in the main app menu.
  2. Enter our website URL in the browser's address bar and press the enter or confirm button.
  3. Download the app. Find the FlixFox TV download link on the page and click it to start the download.
  4. Confirm the download. If a confirmation window pops up, select "Download" or "OK".
  5. Install the app. Once the download completes, the TV may prompt you to install. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  6. Launch the app from your TV's app list once installation completes.
Note: Some TVs may not support downloading and installing external apps directly. You may need to enable "Unknown sources" in your TV settings before the install can proceed.
Best for: Smart TVs with a built-in working browser like Chrome.
Remote control tip: Inside FlixFox TV, use the directional pad to navigate between titles, the OK button to select, and the back button to return to the previous screen. The player accepts standard remote commands for play, pause and seek.

Brand-specific notes

The installation flow is the same across Android Smart TV brands. A few brands have small differences worth knowing — if yours isn't listed below, follow the general 5-step process above.

Mi TV (Xiaomi)

The default browser is Mi Browser or Chrome — both work. After downloading, the APK appears in File Explorer → Internal Storage → Download. If File Explorer isn't pre-installed, install "Mi File Manager" from the Mi App Store first.

OnePlus TV

OnePlus TV uses a file manager called "Oxygen Play". After downloading the FlixFox TV APK in Chrome, open Oxygen Play, navigate to Downloads, and tap the APK file to install.

Realme TV

Realme TV runs near-stock Android TV. The default browser is Chrome and the file manager is the standard Android one. Follow the 5-step guide exactly as written.

Sony Bravia

Sony Bravia uses Sony's UI layer over Android TV. The Settings menu path may read Apps → Security & Restrictions → Unknown Sources instead of Device Preferences. Otherwise the flow is identical.

Vu, Thomson, Hisense

Vu, Thomson and Hisense Android TVs use stock Android TV with minimal customisation. The 5-step guide applies as-is. If the default browser doesn't support downloads on your model, install Chrome from the Play Store first.

Common Smart TV issues

Most installations go through on the first try. If something doesn't work, check these common issues before downloading again.

The TV browser won't download the APK

Some older Android TV browsers block APK downloads by default. Install Chrome from the Play Store and use it instead — Chrome on Android TV downloads APK files reliably across all major brands.

I can't find the downloaded APK on my TV

Open the file manager on your TV (usually called "File Explorer", "Files" or your brand's equivalent). Navigate to Internal Storage → Download. The FlixFox TV APK file should be there. If it isn't, the download may have failed — try again on a stable Wi-Fi connection.

Android blocks the install

This means installs from unknown sources haven't been enabled yet for your browser. Go back to Settings → Device Preferences → Security & Restrictions → Unknown Sources and turn it on for whichever browser you used.

Video playback is buffering or stuttering

Smart TVs typically need 5 Mbps+ for 1080p and 20 Mbps+ for 4K. Switch FlixFox TV to a lower resolution (720p or 480p) if your TV is on Wi-Fi and far from the router. The player also adapts quality automatically based on network speed.

FlixFox TV FAQs

Common questions about FlixFox TV on Android Smart TV.

What is FlixFox TV?

FlixFox TV is the FlixFox app built specifically for Android Smart TVs. The current version is v1.1.2 — designed for TV remote navigation and 10-foot viewing, with the same content library as the FlixFox phone app.

Which Smart TVs does FlixFox TV support?

FlixFox TV supports any Android Smart TV running Android TV 6.0 or above — Mi TV, OnePlus TV, Realme TV, Vu, Thomson, Hisense, Sony Bravia and other Android-based Smart TVs sold in India.

How is FlixFox TV different from the FlixFox phone app?

FlixFox TV is a separate APK built specifically for the big screen. The interface is laid out for D-pad remote navigation, with larger title cards, a 10-foot UI and TV-native player controls. The content library is the same — 100,000+ movies, live TV and sports — but the experience is designed for couch viewing.

How long does it take to install FlixFox TV?

About 5 minutes for first-time setup. The one-time security setting takes a minute, the APK download takes under a minute on Wi-Fi, and installation is around 10 seconds.

Will FlixFox TV work on a non-Android Smart TV?

FlixFox TV is an Android app, so it requires an Android-based TV. If your TV runs Samsung Tizen, LG webOS or another non-Android platform, FlixFox TV cannot be installed directly. Consider using an Android streaming stick like Chromecast with Google TV plugged into your TV.

Does FlixFox TV need a separate account from the phone app?

FlixFox TV works as a standalone app — install and watch immediately. It does not link to your phone app, so watchlists and downloads are kept separately on each device.

FlixFox is an independent streaming application maintained by the FlixFox Official Team. FlixFox TV (v1.1.2) is a separate Android TV build maintained alongside the phone version. FlixFox is not affiliated with Google LLC, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Realme, Vu, Thomson, Hisense, Sony, or any other TV manufacturer mentioned on this page. All brand names are the property of their respective owners.
