Effective Date: April 2025

FlixFox respects the intellectual property rights of all content creators, studios, and rights holders. This policy outlines how we handle copyright infringement claims and the steps available to both complainants and users under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and the Copyright Act, 1957.

1. Our Position on Copyright

FlixFox operates as a neutral content aggregator and search index. We do not host, upload, store, or own any video content on our servers. All content accessible through FlixFox is indexed from publicly available third-party sources.

We are committed to working with rights holders — including Bollywood studios, regional film producers, sports leagues, and music labels — to address valid copyright concerns promptly and in good faith.

2. Submitting a Takedown Notice

If you are a copyright owner or an authorized representative, and you believe that content accessible through FlixFox infringes your rights, you may submit a formal takedown notice.

What Your Notice Must Include

To be considered valid, your takedown notice must contain all of the following:

  • Your full legal name and contact information, including email address and phone number
  • A clear description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
  • The specific URL or link through which the infringing content is accessible via FlixFox
  • A good-faith statement confirming that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on their behalf
  • Your physical or electronic signature

Incomplete notices will not be processed. FlixFox reserves the right to request additional information before acting on a claim.

3. How We Process Takedown Notices

Once a valid takedown notice is received, FlixFox will:

  • Review the notice within 5 to 7 business days
  • Remove or disable access to the identified link if the claim is found to be valid
  • Notify the user associated with the flagged content, where applicable
  • Maintain a record of the notice for compliance purposes

We act on valid notices as quickly as operationally possible. During peak periods, processing may take slightly longer.

4. Counter-Notification Process

If you believe that content was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you have the right to submit a counter-notification. This applies to cases involving fair use, public domain material, or content for which you hold a valid license.

What Your Counter-Notification Must Include

  • Your full legal name and contact information
  • Identification of the content that was removed and its original location
  • A good-faith statement that the content was removed due to mistake or misidentification
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi, India, or your local jurisdiction if outside India
  • Your physical or electronic signature

Under the Copyright Act, 1957, fair use provisions may apply to educational, commentary, or news reporting uses of copyrighted material. We encourage all parties to consider these provisions before submitting or disputing a claim.

5. Three-Strike Policy for Repeat Infringement

FlixFox enforces a strict three-strike policy against users who repeatedly submit or promote infringing content.

Strike 1 — Formal Warning

The user receives a written warning. The infringing content or link is removed immediately.

Strike 2 — Temporary Suspension

The user's account or access privileges are suspended for a defined period. Further violations during this period will result in permanent action.

Strike 3 — Permanent Ban

The user is permanently banned from FlixFox. Their account is terminated and they are barred from registering a new account using the same device or credentials.

FlixFox reserves the right to escalate directly to permanent termination in cases of egregious or large-scale infringement, without prior warning.

6. Abuse of the DMCA Process

Submitting a takedown notice that you know to be false or materially misleading is a serious legal offence. Under both the DMCA and Indian law, knowingly misrepresenting that content is infringing may expose the complainant to liability for damages, including legal costs incurred by FlixFox or the affected user.

We take all notices seriously, and we take false claims equally seriously.

7. Contact for Copyright Claims

To submit a takedown notice or counter-notification, please use the official contact channel listed on our website. Include "DMCA Notice" or "Copyright Claim" in the subject line to ensure prompt routing to our compliance team.
