Who This Policy Applies To

This Privacy Policy governs all users of the FlixFox application across Android smartphones, Android TV, and Firestick devices. FlixFox operates as a neutral content aggregator and search index. We do not host, upload, or own any video files on our servers.

By downloading or using FlixFox, you agree to the practices described in this policy. This policy is governed by the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), and applicable global data protection standards.

What Data We Collect

We follow a minimal-data principle. FlixFox collects only what is strictly necessary to deliver a seamless experience.

Data we do collect:

  • Device model and OS version
  • App language preference
  • Download and watch history (for sync purposes only)
  • Anonymous usage patterns for app performance diagnostics

Data we never collect:

  • Aadhaar card numbers
  • Banking or UPI details
  • Biometric data of any kind
  • Government-issued ID information
  • Your real name or physical address

Advertising and Third-Party Services

FlixFox is a free, ad-supported application. Third-party ad networks may collect:

  • Anonymous device advertising IDs (e.g., Android Advertising ID)
  • General location data (city-level only, not GPS coordinates)
  • App usage patterns for serving contextually relevant ads

FlixFox does not share your personal identity with advertisers. You can opt out of personalized ads by resetting your Android Advertising ID in your device settings under Privacy → Ads.

Cookies and Local Storage

FlixFox uses lightweight local storage to remember your preferences — language settings, subtitle choices, and watch history. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless sync is enabled.

In the in-app ad display layer, third-party cookies may be set by ad partners. These are governed by those partners' own privacy policies.

How We Use Your Data

We use collected information solely for the following purposes:

  • Delivering and improving the core FlixFox streaming experience
  • Syncing your watch history and preferences across registered devices
  • Diagnosing technical issues such as crash reports and buffering patterns
  • Serving ad-supported free content through partner networks
  • Responding to support queries and grievance complaints

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for marketing purposes.

Your Rights and Data Deletion

Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to access, correct, and erase your personal data. You may exercise these rights at any time.

How to request data deletion:

  • Clear local app data via Android Settings → Apps → FlixFox → Clear Data
  • Submit a written request to our Grievance Officer (contact details below)
  • We will process your request within 30 days of receipt

Deleting your app data removes all watch history, language preferences, and locally downloaded content. It does not affect content availability on the FlixFox platform.

Data Security

We apply industry-standard security practices, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS) and access-controlled internal systems. No digital system is fully immune to risk. We strongly encourage users to download FlixFox exclusively from our official website and to avoid modified APKs from unofficial sources.

Children's Privacy

FlixFox is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted data through our platform, please contact our Grievance Officer immediately for prompt removal.

Grievance Officer

In accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, FlixFox has appointed a Grievance Officer to address privacy-related complaints from Indian users.

To raise a complaint, please contact us through the official support channel listed on our website. We aim to respond to all grievance submissions within 30 working days.

Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be notified via an in-app banner. Your continued use of FlixFox after any revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
